  • Establishment
  • The Department of History is established with establishment of college in 15th June, 1971 . Mr.M.T. Solunke as its first head of the department. prof M.T. Solunke & Prof Dynanoba Naikwadi worked in the depart till 1996. Thereafter Prof Sarjerao Bansode & Prof Bhaskar Tekale rendere his invaluable service in this department till today. The department of History imparts instructions in the subject of History and program prepared by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad at graduate level. The B.A. with History is a three year duration course divided into three parts, consisting of six semesters. The department provides teaching facilities in the subject of history at the optional level. Its teaching programme is designed by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University to provide students with a broad overview of world history narrowing down to focus on the history of India with special emphasis on socio-economic and cultural history.
  • Aims and Objectives
  • 1)To develop interest in History education among the students.
  • 2)To prepare student for the competitive exam. Like NET, SLET, MPSC, UPSC.
  • 3)To promote the understanding of cultural, social, political, economic, intellectual and religious changes in the past, and their relation to the historical context of the period under study
  • 4)Visit to the places for historical interests to monuments, archaeological sites, museums and archives
  • 5)Collect & Conserve historical remains like old coins and other historical materials.
  • 6)To extend students general intellectual development by improving their sense of proportion about current issues and problems.
  • Scope/ Opportunities in History
  • 1)School Teacher: plans, prepares and presents lessons for pupils, motivating pupils and assessing and recording pupils progress.
  • 2)Professor: After completion of PG, there are M. Phil, Ph.D. higher qualification and NET/SET qualifying exam, achieving this qualification there are the posts of professors in various college and universities.
  • 3)Historical Research Associates: completion of a bachelor degree in history or history major is enriching experiences that allow to study and research the major social, political, cultural and economic events of the post.
  • 4)Communications: History graduates generally possess high levels of literacy and critical thinking abilities, so are often suited to careers in communications, particularly advertising, marketing etc.
  • 5)Tourist Guide: Opportunity for history student as a tourist Guide at historical places
  • 6)Foreign Affair Department: Opportunity in history department of foreign affair department.
  • 7)Education Administrator: Organizes and managed educational institutions administration or an academic or support department such as finance or careers.
  • 8)Journalist: Responsible for investigation, Gathering and reporting on news and authoring journal.
  • 9)Civil Service: Interprets and applies complex written information relating to policies and procedures, produces high quality materials and reports, researches and conducts and deliver things.
  • B.A. History Programme Outcomes
  • Board of Studies (History) Of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada & History Department faculty has indentified the specific objectives of its undergraduate curriculuim. The following are the learning outcomes that we would like to see each history student graduate with. We are continuously and actively assessing our program to ensure that these outcomes are being met.
  • Students shall be able to demonstrate thinking skill by analyzing, synthesizing and evaluating historical information from multiple sources.
  • Students will develop the ability to distinguish between fact and fiction while understanding that there is no one historical truth.

  • Students will be able to apply, assess and debate the major historicasl schools of thought, methodology and types of sources that historians use to make original arguments.
  • Understand the present existing social, political, religious and economic conditions of the people.
  • Analyze relationship between the past and the present is lively presented in the history.
  • To develop practical skills helipful in the study and understanding of historical events. They draw historical maps, charts, diagrams etc. Prepare historical model, tools etc.
  • Develop interest in the study of history and activities relating to history.
