The commerce faculty of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Mahavidyalay earned a respectable place in the field of education in Aurangabad. In the beginning, that is in the year 1971 it was night college, the aim of which being “Earn and Learn”.
Shir.Rajput was the head of Commerce Department (1971-1979).Shri Giri J was appointed as a lecturer on non grant basis for one year.Shri.B.D. Sude was appointed in the year 1972 as apart time lecturer.
Shri.A.P. Patil,Mrs .M.R.Ruikar & Mrs.V.R.Totala were appointed as a lecturer in senior college in the year 1980. Shri.A,P,Patil resigned in the year 1996.
Department has computer lab and all computers are connected to each other by LAN. We keep all departmental record like annual plan, various functions, old new Syllabus, time table, practical etc.
- Scope and importance of the subject
- Commerce is such a subject which has its application in any type of business and industry. In commerce, there is a variety of subjects like financial management, human resource management, accounting, taxation, auditing, banking, insurance etc. The importance of commerce can be underlined as the application of commerce starts with the opening of business till the winding of business. Without commerce, business operations are not possible. For smooth functioning of the business, commerce is essential.

- As every aspect is linked with commerce, commerce has gained importance. One of the objectives of commerce education is to make the various concepts regarding the subject clear so that develop in their respective field .
